Radio Veronica on 1224
From Saturday August 21st until Tuesday August 31st 1999 the former offshore station Radio Veronica got permission to broadcast special programmes to remember the closedown twenty-five years ago on August 31st 1974.
The frequency was 1224 kHz mediumwave, and the station was on the air 24 hours a day. They were using the QRadio standby transmitter at Lopik with a power of 5 kilowatts. Live programmes originated from Hotel Lapershoek in Hilversum, which was housing the former Veronica landbased in the sixties.
Here you can find up-to-date information about the venture plus nice pictures and memories.
